WHAT WE ARE

The Laboratory of Molecular Inflammation (LMI) is academic research laboratory, which focuses on basic science and translational research.

WHERE WE ARE

LMI is part of Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in Northern Germany (German: Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf; »UKE). The UKE is the teaching hospital of the Hamburg University and among the largest and most renowned hospitals in Germany.  The laboratory space is located in a dedicated research building, which offers a state-of-the-art infrastructure including 10+ core facilities.

WHAT WE DO

LMI is embedded in the research initiative “I3 – Inflammation, Infection, Immunity” of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. Our mission is to identify molecular targets that control acute inflammation. Our aim is to improve the diagnosis and therapy of patients with thromboembolic and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and autoimmune disorders.
